Karate-Do Westwijk was founded in 1995 in Amstelveen, in a district called Westwijk, by Willem Varenkamp. This is the youngest district of the municipality Amstelveen. In it's past, the dojo had several names, but eventually it was called Karate-Do Westwijk. Since 2004 Karate-Do Westwijk also provides classes for people who are 30 years and older.
Westend[edit]
In 1998, foundation Cardanus approached Willem Varenkamp of Karate-Do Westwijk if he could introduce karate to the children of Westwijk. Since then trainings are being held in the gymnasium of the centre Westend, only for the youth (8-13 years).
